Southwest Fine Arts Major Designs Mural for Town of Lebanon
On July 1st, 2026 a new landmark was unveiled to the Town of Lebanon as local officials and community members gathered for the official unveiling of a brand-new community mural celebrating America’s 250. The mural depicts the Auction Clydesdales, owned by Bart Long and Associates Realty & Auction LLC, a favorite part of the Lebanon Christmas parade. The Clydesdales are driven by former Town of Lebanon Town Council Member Doyle Fields, who passed away in 2023. The words “250 Years of US” reflects the collaborative spirit of the region and brings a fresh splash of creativity to the local landscape.
The project is the result of a collaborative partnership between the Town of Lebanon and the Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) School of the Arts.The centerpiece of the celebration is the mural’s design, which was created by Alan Tuhacek, a talented Fine Arts major at SWCC.
