A
classical guitar ensemble concert will be offered on
Monday, June 2nd at 7:00 p.m., in the Mary White
Lawson Auditorium of the Community Center. The concert
will feature guitar students of Jonathan Romeo at
Richlands, Tazewell and Graham High Schools, and at SVCC.
Works will include those of composers Aguado, Gastoldi,
DeVisee, Susato and Scheidt as well as Irish and
American folk tunes.
The concert is a culmination of a year-long Artist in
Education Grant from the Virginia Commission for the
Arts, sponsored by Tazewell County Public Schools and
SVCC. The Instructor for the classes, Jonathan Romeo, is
an instructor of music at SVCC. Romeo has been working
with students in Tazewell County Public Schools since
August, offering both daily and weekly classes.
