Dedication:
We are pleased to dedicate this year’s Festival in honor of Joseph Trivette in appreciation of his tenth year at Southwest Virginia Community College. Thanks to the generosity of Gaynelle Lockhart Albert and Nancy Albert Wolf, funds were made available to endow a chair in music at SWCC.
Since
becoming the “occupant” of that chair, Joey has established
a well-respected music program which includes a Community
Chorus, the Southwest Virginia Children’s Chorus, the
Tuesday Afternoon Piano Academy, the SWCC Jazz Ensemble and
new this spring, the Chamber Music Ensemble Program. And, of
course, he teaches many music classes, private piano, vocal
and instrumental lessons and assist music students by
acquiring funds to provide scholarships as well as for
private instruction and the purchase of instruments.
