Along the Silk Road: From Italy to China and Back Again!!

The 2010 Festival once again features internationally renowned musicians and visual artists. Join us as we explore the cultural riches along the route of Marco Polo!

Welcome!

Southwest Virginia Community College is excited to present this year's Festival of the Arts. Since 1995, many countries of the world, including our very own Appalachian Region of the United States, have been the focus of the festival.

We have celebrated the cultural riches of many nations over the years through art, drama, music and dance. We expect the 2010 Festival to be a VERY exciting one, with performances to include:

  • Kuniuko Yamamoto; Magical Mask, Mime and Music of Japan
  • Chinese Music Ensemble of New York
  • Yu Wei Chinese Dance Collection

Our returning artists for this year include Camerata Virtuosi New York, the Knoxville Symphony, Pavlina Dokovska, Vladimir Valjarevic and our own Joseph Trivette. Make plans now to join us!
