The Student Government Association serves as the student body’s voice at SWCC. The SGA senate is comprised of fifteen senators.
SGA manages the Student Activities budget which supports clubs and organizations, the SWCC Series, intramural and club sports, special programs for students such as dances and other social gatherings.
To qualify as a senator you must be enrolled as a full-time student, and if elected, continue to be enrolled full-time for the duration of the term of office. You must also maintain a 2.0 average while in office.
The SGA meets every Monday from 12:00-12:50 in Buchanan Hall room 100.
Benefits of SGA
It has been proven that involved students have a more successful college experience. SGA gives you the opportunity to build valuable relationships with faculty, staff, and other SWCC students.
Transfer schools desire students who are involved. Some even offer scholarships to SGA officers. Employers look for applicants who have leadership and organizational experience.
