I am a P2 at the Gatton College of Pharmacy at ETSU and plan on
graduating in 2011
"The Science Learning Community helped me to get to know the professors and the other students. We had guest speakers who talked about various subjects and got to go on some pretty interesting field trips. Because I wanted to go into the profession of pharmacy it was very
beneficial to meet professors that taught at pharmacy schools, students at pharmacy schools, and we even had the
opportunity to tour both pharmacy schools in the region. We had help with filling out applications, letters of reference, and met a lot of good people, not to mention the free pizza and canoe trip."

Currently finishing up my pre-reqs for BSN Nursing programs either at ETSU or Radford. I
will be transferring in Spring 09.
"The Science program was helpful to me in so many ways. I
received a wonderful background in the basic sciences classes such as biology and anatomy here at the community college. The science
learning community also opened up a lot of doors for me by getting me involved in a lot of extra-curricular
activities that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I would totally recommend the
SLC at SWCC to all students."

I am currently in my 2nd year of pharmacy school at UACP
"The Science Learning Community provided me the opportunity to interact with other students and learn how to become a useful member to the "team approach" concepts in health care. Also, the faculty associated with the SLC were top notch and were always around to provide me the support that no other institution could provide. With every class I take in professional school, I am able to rely on the solid pre-professional foundation built by the SLC team at SWCC."

Presently first pharmacy student at UACP
"I feel like the science learning community helped me get on the right track at the
beginning of my freshman year at SWCC. Ms. Householder and Dr. Mullins were especially helpful, because I needed to know the right
classes to take and the other things I needed to do in order to get into pharmacy school.
It's true that you do feel lost when you first start college, and its nice to have a little push to get you going."
