Judgment of Compliance: Compliance

Narrative:

The institution ensures the quality of educational programs/courses offered through consortia relationships or contractual agreements, ensures ongoing compliance with the comprehensive requirements, and evaluates the consortial relationship and/or agreement against the purpose of the institution.

Annual reviews are conducted to evaluate the quality of all educational programs/courses offered through consortia relations or contractual agreements. These reviews ensure that policies and procedures set forth in the contractual agreements are followed in accordance with quality standards established by the College. For example, SVCC has entered into contractual agreements with several area high schools to offer dual enrollment courses. SVCC regularly monitors these agreements to ensure compliance with established standards, such as meeting faculty requirements, use of approved course syllabi and textbooks, and adherence to prerequisite requirements.

Through consortial agreements with other VCCS colleges, cooperative degree programs are provided in allied health fields which permit participating colleges to share resources and instructional responsibilities. These contractual agreements are also monitored to ensure policies and procedures and administrative oversight in matters such as admissions, curriculum and instruction, and graduation requirements meet SVCC’s quality standards.
