The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Scholarship (S-STEM) program was established to increase the number of talented, but financially disadvantaged undergraduate students who achieve an associate’s degree in the following areas:
· Science
· Engineering
· Computer Electronics Technology
· Electrical/Electronics Technology
Applicants must have financial need and plan to transfer to a senior institution upon graduation from SWCC with an associate’s degree. Along with these guidelines, students must meet the following criteria:
· US Citizen, national or alien admitted as a refugee at a time of application
· Financial need defined by the US Department of Education as Cost of Attendance (COA) minus the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) for undergraduate students
· Full-time enrollment (minimum of twelve credit hours per semester) in a S-STEM eligible degree program
· Continued academic achievement and satisfactory progress toward an applicable degree (maintaining a minimum 2.8 GPA and minimum completion of 12 credit hours per semester)
