Weekend College Programs

SWCC will be offering a Weekend College during fall semester. To meet the needs of a diverse student population, weekend classes focusing on specific programs of study are offered in an accelerated hybrid format to enable the students to complete the offered programs in one year. The classes will be held on Saturdays with classes beginning at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The programs available to be completed in the accelerated hybrid format beginning in August are:

acceleratedAssociate of Applied Science (AAS) in Management

acceleratedSpecialization in Insurance

acceleratedSpecialization in Marketing Communication

acceleratedCareer Studies Certificate (CSC) in Electrical Installation

These programs are designed to be completed in one year. The core classes will be offered on Saturday in a hybrid seven week format while the general education courses can be completed online.

The AAS Management degree with a specialization in Insurance is a great choice for the first-time graduate looking to start a career. The curriculum is designed to prepare students to take insurance licensure exams including Life, Annuities and Health, and Property and Casualty in addition to the CPIA professional designation.

With the specialization in Marketing Communication, the student will learn how marketing and customer service are critical functions of all businesses and organizations, and without these functions, businesses and organizations will fall short of their potential. Effective marketing is important for individuals as well as businesses. Whether you are applying for a job or offering a service, how you are perceived can make the difference between success and failure.

The Career Studies Certificate in Electrical Installation is designed to prepare the student for full-time employment as an entry-level trade electrician immediately upon completion of the program. Students completing the program are capable of performing the job skills expected of entry-level electricians while working with a licensed electrician.
