Jimmy W. Welch (far right), Executive Director of the Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation, Inc., presents Dr. J. Mark Estepp, President of Southwest Virginia Community College, with a gift for scholarship assistance. The Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation Scholarship program grants four $1000 scholarships annually to students from the southwest Virginia/southern West Virginia counties bordering the Bluefield area. Students may receive the scholarship as long as they are successfully enrolled in a program at SWCC pursuing a diploma, usually for two years. Students targeted to receive these scholarships should have a grade point average of 2.0 to 3.0 and maintain that average to continue receiving the scholarship. Students receiving the scholarships for 2009-2010 are: Leanna Mullins, Jolo, WV; Jackson Martin, Bluefield, VA; Stephanie Owens, Pounding Mill, VA; and Teresa Bothwell, Richlands, VA.
