Student Places in National Competition

SwVCC student and Phi Beta Lambda member, Dreama Campbell placed ninth in the Word Processing category at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Campbell placed first in the state of Virginia and competed against first and second place winners representing each state and the District of Columbia. The top ten places were awarded at the national competition.

Campbell graduated from SwVCC in the spring with an Associate of Applied Science degree in administrative support technology. “By successfully completing the administrative support technology program at SwVCC, I met the requirements for the position of data technician/office manager with the Southwest Regional Adult Education Program. Now, I am in a position in which I am in contact with adults who are earning their GED. Through these contacts, I am able to refer potential students to Southwest so they may further their education.”

Katrina Large competed in the Accounting I category after winning first place at the state competition.
