(Richmond) - A new agreement announced today will provide a gateway for transfer students from Virginia's Community Colleges to attend Randolph College.
John Klein, Randolph's president, attended the signing in Richmond with Glenn DuBois, chancellor of Virginia's Community Colleges and other system officials.
The new agreement will guarantee junior standing and allow students to plan for the academic program at Randolph College with more precision. As Randolph College becomes a transfer destination for students in the state, the agreement will serve as a tool for ensuring a smooth transfer for students.
"We are proud of the partnership with Randolph College," said Glenn DuBois. "It is part of our larger effort to continually expand affordable access to higher education for Virginia students and help them pursue their bachelor's degree at one of the commonwealth's high-quality public and private four-year institutions."
Randolph joins more than 22 other institutions in Virginia who have signed guaranteed admissions agreements. Such colleges include the College of William & Mary, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Emory & Henry, Sweet Briar and the University of Mary Washington.
"The new agreement will elevate the college, and its recent changes, to a more prominent position in the minds of transfer students and the community college advisors who work with transfer students," said Kim Sheldon, head of the college's Prime Time Program.About Virginia's Community Colleges: Created more than 40 years ago, the VCCS is comprised of 23 community colleges located on 40 campuses across the commonwealth.
