Pat Bussard is the Coordinator of Public Relations. She has worked at the college since 1987. Prior to coming to Southwest, she worked as a newspaper and radio reporter and in public relations. She has taught journalism classes and has presented at conferences on topics relating to communication. She has also authored articles on the topics of marketing and communication. She has earned a Master of Science degree in Occupational/Technical Education with an emphasis in Communication from Old Dominion University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration, concentration in Marketing, minor in Journalism, and an Associate in Arts in Administrative Science degree from Glenville State College. She manages a broad marketing and communication mix at Southwest to coordinate the branding of the institution, shape opinion, reduce dissonance, make contacts, open channels of communication and facilitate understanding of Southwest, its purpose, goals, programs, services and people.
