The Library is a fully automated, modern research facility, encompassing a square foot area and housed in a new building, the Earl E. & Dorothy J. Dellinger Learning Resources Center. The new environment is quiet, spacious, and attractive. |
Public and student access computers are located conveniently near the Circulation Desk while wireless laptop computers are available for use within the library area. We now have a fully equipped instructional computer lab. All computers are networked with access to the LINC online catalog, which indexes print book, electronic, book, and print journal collections; to locally provided databases; to Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA) databases provided as shared collections with the VCCS; and to the Internet. Wireless access for personal laptops is provided throughout the library. |
The online catalog provides access to the Southwest Virginia Community College Library's collections and to all other college libraries in the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). The online catalog also gives access to Old Dominion University (ODU), Learning Assistance Center, and Distance and Distributed Learning Services resources. |
The campus I.D. station, Circulation Desk, Reference Desk, Interlibrary Loan Office, conference/study rooms, copier for public use, and offices of the Coordinator of Library Services, Acquisitions personnel, and Cataloging personnel are located for easy access.
