Sociology Journals
PDF Version - Please note that viewing and printing PDF files requires access on your computer to Adobe Acrobat Reader. This program can be downloaded from the following address: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Sociology journals can be located on the shelf at the SVCC Library. Check the Periodicals in Print link to see a list of journals at the Library – www.sw.edu/library/periodicals.htm.

Some Sociology journals are also available online in full-text from the SVCC Library web page. Sociology journals that have full-text access are: Social Forces, Journal of Marriage and the Family, and Sociological Quarterly.

You can access the full-text journals by doing the following:
1.	Start at the SVCC Library web page. www.sw.edu
2.	Click on Library Services. www.sw.edu/library
3.	Choose the Periodicals link in the Search for ... column on the library web page.
4.	Select the Full-Text List link. http://sfx.vccs.edu/vccs/a-z.
5.	Next, do a "Starts with" or "Contains" search to locate one of the Sociology journals available in full text.
	(The full-text, online journals are listed in step 6.)
6.	Click on the resulting link:
		For Social Forces, select the title link.
		For Journal of Marriage and the Family, select the title link.
		For *Sociological Quarterly*, select the title link.
7.	Choose a year, enter your SVCC username and password when prompted, and then select an issue within the chosen year.
8.	In the results list, select an article and then choose your desired viewing format -- full-text HTML or PDF.

Note: If you are experiencing problems with home access, you may be running MS Internet Explorer, version 7. If so, download Mozilla’s Firefox free browser from http://www.firefox.com. Use the Firefox browser to access the journal articles. If you are still having trouble with access, delete all cookies in Foxfire, and try again.
