About Our Graphic Identity

The logo for Southwest Virginia Community College allows us to communicate a strong, cohesive image of Southwest as a dynamic yet reliable institution of higher education. The graphic identity guidelines outlined in this publication apply to all Southwest Virginia Community College divisions, departments and off-campus operations and are inclusive of both print and web media.


COLLEGE LOGO

The expectation is that college employees will identify all letterheads, envelopes, business cards, forms, etc. with the same logo.

COLLEGE SLOGAN

The College’s slogan is an integral part of its graphic identity. Consistent use of the slogan throughout the institution serves to build a core identifier to complement the official logo.

COLORS

A significant factor in the success of Southwest’s unified identity is adherence to a standard color palette. The table below lists specifications for the identity’s standard colors in most of the major color models in use today:

TYPOGRAPHY

Southwest’s graphic identity must be designed to stand on its own within a broad variety of design styles/medium. Therefore, especially with printed pieces, there are no restrictions on the typefaces that may be used in conjunction with the logo/artwork provided.

However, the logo/artwork itself will use a standard typeface and should not be edited.

The standard Font Family(s) for web publications should be Sans-Serif fonts. Recommended font family is Verdana, Arial.
