RIDING AND STREET SKILLS

Registration Information

The MRC:RSS (RIDING AND STREET SKILLS) is designed to teach the novice motorcyclist the skills to ride safely on the street.  The 2 credit course of instruction takes the beginning rider through the basics of motorcycle operation.  Skills taught include:  straight line riding, turning, shifting, braking, obstacle avoidance and safe riding strategies.  The course consists of 6 hours of classroom instruction and 16 hours of hands on training. 

The MRC:RSS course provides helmets and motorcycles (125cc to 250cc) for students use.  Textbooks are also provided.  All instructors are experienced motorcyclists, nationally certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation to teach the course.

Successful completion of the MRC:RSS course prepares the student for licensing and motorcycle operation on the streets and highways, may provide a discount on insurance with many major insurance companies.

Students must provide:

leather gloves

sturdy over the ankle foot protection

long pants (denim is best)

long sleeve shirt or jacket

three-quarter helmet (we provide-but you can bring your own)

rain gear (if needed)

lunch for Second and Third day's

To be eligible to enroll in either class a student must be at least 16 years of age and will require written parental permission up to age 18.  A parent must attend the first class meeting for students under the age of 18.

Note:  Motorcycle Only License will not be issued to anyone under the age of 18 who has not qualified for a regular Operators License
