Great Advantages for Southwest Students

brittany brownSVCC student Brittany Brown, shown filling-up at the gas pump, has access to a number of alternatives that can take a bite out of the high cost of fuel. (Full story here)

Flexible Schedules

Students may opt for either a two day or three day on campus class schedule while taking advantage of numerous evening and distance learning course offerings to complete their schedule requirements. Because of the rising fuel costs and the need for many students to work part-time, SVCC provides flexible schedules, which allow students to attend full-time by adding evening or distance education classes.

Counselors are available to help you pick the best possible class schedule to fit your needs. Also, the online schedule can be searched by course type and location to assist you in planning. Use the search feature or click the location or subject headings to sort and browse your options.

Free Bus Service

Four County Transit buses cover the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell and Tazewell and IT'S FREE for Southwest students. For a complete schedule of bus stops, check the website at http://www.fourcountytransit.org/RouteCollege/college.htm  .

LOW Tuition Rate

Affordable tuition for a world-class education is another cost saving advantage to attending Southwest.  The money saved by completing the first two years of a four-year education at Southwest will go a long way toward paying for the final two-years of a transfer student’s education.
