The application process to
Southwest
--- may be completed online
--- will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes
--- is FREE.
When applying online, you will receive your EmplID and Password
information to access your MYSouthwest account immediately.
Acceptance is not complete until
the Admissions Office receives all of the information needed for enrollment
in your Program of Study.
1 -Submit an Application for In-state Tuition if it has been more than twelve months since you took a class at SWCC. NOTE: The Application for In-state Tuition is included in the online VCCS Application for new applicants.
2 - Indicate a program plan on your application; if applying for Financial Aid, you must choose a program plan. Browse the College Catalog for programs of study offered.
3 -Take SWCC's assessment tests unless you have transfer credit in math or English or submit adequate official SAT/ACT scores in each area.
ALLIED HEALTH PROGRAMS
If applying for admission to one of
the Allied Health programs of:
Occupational Therapy, Radiography, Nursing or Practical
Nursing the candidate for admission must also submit the Health Care Program Application

Submit the application along with documentation of all program admission requirements to the Admissions Office by January 15.
Nursing School Aptitude Examination (RN) Candidates for the Nursing program must complete the TEAS Test. Register for the TEAS test at https://www.atitesting.com/Home.aspx . Choose Richlands Virginia for testing delivered at Southwest. The cost is $40, payable at registration online.

High School Students
---If you are a high school student interested in dual enrollment classes, contact your high school guidance counselor.
---If you have graduated from high school within the past three years, have a copy of your transcript sent to Admissions. Download request form.
Transfer Students
If you are a transfer student from another college, have the institution send an official transcript directly to the Office of Admissions and Records in a sealed envelope.
