Diesel Powered Equipment/Mine Machinery Maintenancemine machinery

Length: One-year Program - Two semesters plus Summer session in Diesel Power maintenance.

Purpose: The option is designed to train persons for full-time employment upon successful completion of the program. Diesel power mechanics are involved with those machines commonly found in highway construction and in surface mine operations. The program option is geared to produce students who can transition easily into today’s job market. Another advantage is that the one-year program allows a person to select a “going career” while it is still going.

Admission Requirements: Applicant must meet the general requirements of admission to the college.

Program Requirements: The student is required to take courses in electricity, hydraulics systems, mechanical maintenance, welding, as well as related math and other general education courses. In addition, the student is to take those specialized technical courses within the chosen option.
