Purpose: This curriculum has been designed to prepare welding students to
fill the need for pipefitters
assistants.
Occupational Objectives: Welding Pipefitter's Assistant
Admission Requirements: Students must meet the general admission
requirements established by the
College.
Program Requirements: The Welding Pipefitter's Assistant Career Study
Certificate is designed to prepare students to work as assistant pipefitter
welder, and to provide them with an introduction to the problems associated with
the various types of equipment and materials used in pipefitting. In addition to
the courses in welding, students will receive instruction in safety and
blueprint reading along with a coordinated internship in pipefitting.
Students successfully completing the program receive a Careers Study Certificate
as a Pipefitters Assistant. Job opportunities as a Pipefitters Assistant exists
in many service areas.
