
Length: One year program - two semesters
Purpose: The Helpdesk Support program is designed to provide students
with the knowledge to perform hardware and software support services in a
networked environment. The student will be exposed to the basic principles of
databases, Microsoft office, operating systems, PC repair, security, networks,
helpdesk support skills and principles.

Admission Requirements: Admission to the program is governed by the
established admission requirements to the College. Prior knowledge of computer
hardware, software and Internet is preferred.
Program Requirements: The student will complete course work in
Microsoft office, databases, networking, operating systems, PC repair, security
and helpdesk support. The courses will emphasis the competencies needed for the
student to effectively provide helpdesk support services.
In addition, the student will complete courses that focus on proper
communication skills, customer service skills, customer support techniques,
working with end-users, troubleshooting problems, writing for end users, and
needs analysis.
This program would be a great place to start before getting into the more technical programs of database administration, computer programming and network administration.
